Innovation Tournament
Artistic and cultural innovations are provocative offerings that pioneer and nurture novel ideas and designs that challenge the status quo and enrich our shared human experience. It fuses imagination, tradition, and groundbreaking methods to produce expressions that resonate with contemporary audiences. For instance, a digital art installation might use augmented reality to let viewers “step into” a classic painting.
Ideas Tournament
This tournament connects talented creators, innovators, and leaders from all colleges and majors to confidential mentoring at the LaunchPad in the Student Union Lobby. Our mentors help students improve their career readiness by developing their entrepreneurial skills and startup ideas. This signature competition supports LaunchPad’s goals to reduce startup risks, broaden access to startup resources, and encourage underrepresented and under-resourced students to dream big and succeed.
Joust New Venture Challenge
The Joust celebrates the entrepreneurial efforts of student creators, innovators, change-makers, and leaders from all academic and professional disciplines. This is the ultimate event for sharing dreams and realizing impact. The Joust is open to all UCF students and accepts all types of venture proposals. This competition brings together big prizes, ideas, and leaders to create one of UCF’s most exciting student events.
Innovation Challenge
The Innovation Tournament invites students to bring their ideas to life and spark meaningful, positive change by participating in one of four exciting tracks: Social & Health, Arts & Entertainment, Retail Products & Services, and Advanced Technology. Artistic, social, and technological innovation all move our world forward by blending creativity, collaboration, and fresh ideas that challenge norms and enrich everyday life. From imaginative cultural expressions to community-centered solutions, innovation thrives when students feel inspired to make a difference.
Impact of Research Competition
This competition challenges students to articulate the potential value of their research with respect to future applications that could create societal benefits. In short, this competition asks researchers to address the “so what?” question that follows a description of their efforts. How could your research solve problems, help others, and make things better? The Student Research Impact Competition provides an opportunity for all UCF graduate and undergraduate students to showcase the potential impacts and benefits of their research.
