Kelly Shea, a junior elementary education major at UCF, transformed a frustrating travel mishap into a successful startup called DripLock, a device that prevents pump bottles from leaking and controls product output. With support from UCF’s Innovation Lab and Blackstone LaunchPad, Shea developed her prototype and raised over $10,000 through Kickstarter to fund manufacturing.

Despite facing multiple surgeries, including a major spinal operation that paused her momentum, Shea remained resilient and continued to inspire others through campus competitions and speaking engagements. Now recovered, she coaches fellow students at LaunchPad and is developing a new product to assist with physical therapy, aiming to teach entrepreneurship to young learners after graduation.
